London Fashion Weekend

This evening I went to Vodaphone's London Fashion Weekend at Somerset house. I was front row at the evening fashion show which was great, featuring designers Mark Fast, William Tempest and Bora Aksu. I particularly loved the first part of the show that featured styling with inspiration from film, The Black Swan as well as Mark Fast's collection that closed the show. The event is great, for shopaholics especially so i'll definitely be going again next year!

I have so much to do within the next month, I have work coming out of my ears! Next week I'm going to Paris to work on the Vivienne Westwood AW11 Gold Label show at Paris Fashion Week for a few days and have the first round of my Wallace Collection critique. I'm also giving an interview for an online magazine article that I'm going to be featured in soon and producing exclusive fashion illustrations for. I've also got my work featuring in another magazine hopefully next month and then....holiday! Woop! Another worry i have on my mind though...what on earth am i going to wear in Paris?!!

Red Label AW11

Check out the snaps i took from the Vivienne Westwood Red Label AW11 London Fashion Week show where I worked backstage and had an amazing time! Whilst waiting for my model to have her hair and makeup done, I watched Tracey Emin having an interview, Daisy Lowe having her hair styled, Susie Bubble taking some snaps and Dame Vivienne herself ensuring everything was running smoothly, a great night!

Red Label: The Campaign For Wool

The Vivienne Westwood Red Label AW11 LFW show invite is themed in reference to lambswool named 'The Campaign For Wool', a project Vivienne is working on at the moment. It also coincidentally features a cropped image of a painting from The Wallace Collection, of whom I'm doing a project for at the moment.

Street Style

This week I was style spotted on Regents Street on my way to interning by blogger Eri on Prettyportabello.blogspot.com. The feature was themed by fur so here you can see me wearing a shearling sheepskin panelled coat and chocolate brown playsuit a la Topshop

Fashion Closets

3.1 Phillip Lim fur, Balenciaga bag, J Crew trousers
Chanel shoes
Chanel bag, Giuseppe Zanotti boots
Vintage silverware
Miu Miu sandals, Eddie Borgo bracelet
Tom Binns necklace
At the moment I'm addicted to website http://thecoveteur.com/, a site that takes you into the closets of the most high-flying fashionista's in the industry such as Joanna Hillman, Senior Fashion Market Editor of Harper's Bazaar, New York. I love seeing all the gorgeous designer garments and accessories they have- even if they do make me jealous! As well as random cool trinkets collected along their fashion travels!

Busy Bee

Pencil and ink illustration

I'm quite a busy bee this month as it's the second week of my interning at Vivienne Westwood; I'm also interning with Gok Wan in a few weeks on his Fashion Fix show which should be fun! I've got my Wallace Collection project to work on as well as designing a fashion illustration for a fashion blog and designing party invitations...so much to do! I can't wait til LFW though as I'm working backstage at Vivienne Westwood's AW11 Red Label show being held at the London Magistrates Court and going to Vodaphone's London Fashion Weekend front row at Somerset House... fun fun fun!

The Black Swan

This week I finally got to the cinema to see The Black Swan; I love the ballet and couldn't wait to see the beautiful Rodarte costumes. I loved the white swan pieces with the feather head dress designed by the Mulleavy sisters (see illustration below). Natalie Portman is amazing and fit the role perfectly with her beauty and elegance, just makes me wish I took up ballet when I was little!
