Countdown to Christmas...

In the countdown to Christmas I have been commissioned by Debenhams to illustrate a series of 4 fashion illustrations showing how to get through the Christmas season stress-free with their guide to shopping online. This is a pencil drawing layered with photo- collage featuring a Jenny Packham dress from the website. With the big day vastly approaching I think I should definitely begin taking their advice! V festival last weekend was so much fun..! I went on the Saturday when Beyonce was headlining :D Here I'm wearing American Apparel & a Topshop fluffy jacket yo :p

Stationary

I came across one of these a few days ago and forgot how much I loved making them! This is one of many handmade duchess satin bound fashion illustrated notebooks I made a few years ago. After rediscovering them, I realised I should begin to make some new ones with my latest illustrations on them < 3

Tutti Frutti

This is my latest swimwear design in Mango with Tutti Frutti beaded tassel embellishment. I constructed the swimsuit top using my same pattern from my previous design of the satin blush pink cami below. I love the triangle shape of the bikini top and fruit salad sweetie contrasting colours < 3

Blush Pink

This is a top that I designed for myself as I had an image of the style I wanted so decided to simply make it myself! Constructed from a pattern I made, it is a satin & silk crop cami top in blush pink lined with ivory duchess satin. Loveeeeeee...

Flamingo Love

A collage produced by me, featuring Sister by Sibling pom pom hats on silver foil reflective paper <3

Sharing in my love of flamingos, I am currently following an emerging shoe designer, Sophia Webster who's designs I am in love with! I love her whole concept of the brand which is so fun and a taste I definitely share as the collage I produced above 4 months ago reflects!

Sophia currently has a pop up shop in Burlington Arcade which I plan to visit. I love her aesthetic and you can definitely see her Nicholas Kirkwood background in the designs which are super cool <3

Ahh...hearts in my eyes!!!!

Ibizaaaaa!

Last week I enjoyed an amazing week in Ibiza! This is my fifth time to the island and every time I visit, I have a different experience which I love about it. This time my three friends and I had a fun week, visiting events and locations that I had never tried before so it was great to all be trying something new at the same time...

My outfit of choice for this long day was a Topshop bandeau bikini top and skirt, Miu Miu tortoise shell sunglasses, an embroided beach bag that I purchased in a market in Thailand 3 years ago and Zara sandals.

Experimental Cocktail Beach Club- where we were served an Old Cuban cocktail in a giant pearly shell whilst watching the sun set on Salinas beach <3

A particular highlight of the holiday was on the Thursday when we had a lovely relaxing shopping day in Ibiza Old Town and then went onto The Experimental Cocktail Beach Club in Las Salinas for some drinks to watch the sunset before moving onto a very contrasting night of clubbing in Amnesia to see Calvin Harris!

Ocean Beach Club was fun, where we had a shell bed to ourselves and enjoyed frozen cocktails whilst listening to the DJ all day before having a lovely sushi lunch and watching the sun set at 9pm with a bellini- perfect! Gorgeous view?!

Acrobatic dancing on a string of balloons- as ya do at David Guetta :p

Another favourite of ours was Ushuaia where we went to two events, David Guetta and Departures which was so much fun. As the DJ's play their sets the aeroplanes arriving to Ibiza airport fly over the stage which was super cool.

Graduate Fashion Week 2013

Last week I had the pleasure of attending Graduate Fashion Week in Earls Court; I had a great time and was really impressed by this years graduates and what they had to offer to the fashion industry. I was particularly impressed by Du Montfort's contour graduates who had a beautiful array of lingerie and swimwear collections. I particularly loved the embroidery work of the silk dressing gown (2nd & 3rd image). I also enjoyed the work of Northumbria University with graduates such as Tamara Rimay-Muranyi who specialises in lace work, with her collection named 'Miss Havisham' which was so pretty and amazingly detailed. I loved the event overall and can image it only to grow with the amazingly talented creatives that come out of university every year.

Festival Des Metiers

This week I took a trip to the Saatchi Gallery to explore the Hermes Festival Des Metiers exhibition. The two gallery spaces gave you a chance to meet the craftsmen and see how they work to produce their signature silk scarves, jersey womenswear garments, diamond pyramid cuffs, watches and the famous Kelly handbag. The super-talented workers train for at least four years, with the lovely lady who showcased how the jersey & silk t-shirts were hand produced, having worked with Hermes for 24 years! I really enjoyed watching how the Kelly bag was made and have such an appreciation for how these products are all hand rendered with such attention to detail by amazing Parisian craftsmen & women- for me this really justifies their price points.

Peachy Keen

I've been working a little more on my swimwear and made a few pieces for my holiday last week!
I made a peach twist bandeau bikini top and matching high waisted peplum detailed bottoms. I also made a simple bandeau top with a turquoise trinket embellishment- all cut from a pattern made from scratch. Plus I also produced a pom pom customised sarong and a peach satin top with lemon grosgrain ribbon-tie back- pretty cute aye?
I'm currently working on the look of my swimwear brand aswell as the name!
Watch this space!

J'adore Dior Cafe at Harrods

I strongly recommend you all to visit Harrods this month for the Christian Dior exhibition and pop up cafe on the fourth floor < 3
You can have afternoon tea in the cafe- I opted for the scallops with spinach & crab and pomme puree with a glass of raspberry & vanilla lemonade ummmmhmmmmm.
You can then have a stroll through the exhibition featuring couture from the man himself through to John Galliano and Raf Simons. Also check out the telephone box a la Dior that will spritz you with Miss Dior perfume < 3
